Andy Warhol self-portrait fetches $38.4

Andy Warhol's first self-portrait, a four-panel acrylic silk-screen in blue hues, has fetched $38.4m (£23.5m) at an auction at Christie's in New York.

Only eight Wharhols has been sold, so now, the first self-portrait that Warhol did is for sale on the New York contemporany art sales. Its sale will finish on thursday, at the auction house Philips de Pury.

My comment:

I hope that people didin't think that its price it's too high, so I think that this kind of important work should be so expensive. We are talking about Andy Warhol, one of the most known contemporany artists.

I know some important works of him, such as the Marilyn Monroe portrait or the diferent po

rtrait which are in four diferent colours. They are so known and succesful, so that's why they are really good, and expensive. I think that everybody has seen some Warhol work, because we can see it in lots of places, such as modern bars or friends homes. For exemple, I've got a copy of one of them in my bedroom.

IN conclusion, I think that its price is normally allowing that Andy Warhol is one of the most famous pop art artist.

BOB DYLAN'S "LIKE A ROLLING STONE" NAMED BEST SONG

A little summary:

Bob Dylan's 1965 anthem Like a Rolling Stone has been named the singer-songwriter's greatest hit by a panel of musicians, writers and academics.

A group of kown artists has done a poll, because of celebrate the 70th Bob Dylan's birthday on 24 of may, this year. So they conclude that, in general, "Like a rolling stone" is the best song, not only of Bob Dylan, also of the international pop.

I have to notice, that Dylan did this song for the real music band called The Rolling Stones, probably, one of the most known music bands in the world.

Comment on the news:

First of all, I've chosed this piece of news because as you should now, I really like music, and I consider Bob Dylan as one of the best singers of this world. I've heard lots of times his song called "like a rolling stone" and I've got it also on my mobile phone!

I'm interested in all things related on the music, and secially in those news or articles which talk about known artists who deserve to be the main chacarcters of some articles of newspaper's articles.

In reference to the song that the other artists chose as the best, In my opinion, it isn't, becuase maybe I prefer another one, such as "Knoking on heavens door", which is also one of the most known songs, or "Blowing in the wind".

Finally, I will say that Bob Dylan is one of the best singers we have got, so I hope his music will never disappear even thouth his career stopped.

Many years ago, people said that it would be fantastic that the midfielder of the Arsenal F C change his team for the F.C. Barcelona, where he would be welcome. Maybe people have heard many times about rumours related with that, and also, many soccer fans have speculated that. So, now is the moment the these rumours have to end because, deifinetely, the catalan Cesc Fàbregas will play in the FCB team!

Now Fàbregas is decided to do this change, and the Arsenal F C isn't so excited. It should be noted that this footballer is one of the bests of this team, and maybe, they will miss him; but this 24-year-old man, though he knows he's irrepleaceable, he's decided.

So, I've seen this kind of news maaaaaaaaaany times, everybody wants to see Cesc Fàbregas playing in FCB. This piece of new exemplifies the ruomours I've talked before. We wouldn't count the times that somebody has talked about it. Every FCB fan wants to Cesc Fàbregas starts to play in their team, but some interviews tell that he is confortable and happy in the Arsenal F C; and we can believe it, because the offers that the Barcelona and other teams has given to him has been always good.
I hope that all the FCB fans could fulfull their desire someday (and I include myself) ;)

A VERY ANIMATED NEW

I don't know how it was, but a few months ago, searching information for my research project (maybe I was searching some characteristic about one of those animals: hipo and zebra) I found a new which cought my attention, have a look at it please, it's so funny! A zebra at Zurich Zoo appeared to be staring into the jaws of death when visitors saw it nose to nose with an open-mouthed hippopotamus.

But the hippo had no intention of having the zebra for lunch - it was having its teeth cleaned.
The extraordinary sight was captured by photographer Jill Sonsteby, from Jacksonville, Florida.

She said the teeth-cleaning session lasted 15 minutes and the zebra came to no harm.

"The zebra was in the same enclosure as the hippo and its baby," said Ms Sonsteby, 34.
"The hippo opened its mouth and let the zebra in there to clean, Everybody was snapping pictures. It was so great to be there at that moment."

Comment:

That new tells that a Zebra in a Zurich zoo put her head on a hippo’s mouth. Everybody that saw it though that the hippopotamus was hungry and wanted to eat the zebra’s head, but fifteen minutes later, the zoo’s stuff saw that the hippo just wanted to clean her teeth, and the zebra helped him.

In this moment everybody who was there, was taking photos, because it’s an impacting thing to see.

The new says that the hippo is one of the most aggressive creatures of the world and her teeth can cut a small boat in half!

Also they are the creatures who can weigh up three tonnes.

I think that it’s an incredible thing because, all the people who see something like that, the first thing that they think is that the hippo is going to kill the zebra eating her head, but not, the hippo just wanted to clean his teeth!

What I think that is the most strange is:

How the zebra knew that the hippo wanted to clean his teeth?

I don’t know it, and nobody knows it; maybe they can “talk” and understand themselves, but only they know how it was.

COMMENT ON A NEW

Top Shop is one of the best and biggest empires related to the fashion industry. So, this year its bonuses profits incremented 10 %. And because of that, they will need more workers on their shops for this year’s Christmas.

So, also in reference with that, the shops have become bigger. They have revamped the shops and the quality of their clothes.

The Top Shop’s director, called Philip Green, knows what to do to win money and not to lose (like the journalists say in the new: “In many ways, Sir Philip is the ideal leader for the current times: he knows what consumers want, but also keeps the business streamlined.”) So he have changed a lot of things related with his shops, but the only “thing” that they haven’t changed is the supermodel Kate Moss, who had designed her last Top Shop collection.

Is very good to see how the fashion industry is going well in those countries, like England. Because now in Spain the economy is going wrong, and I think that no industry will increase its bonuses profits for years.

COMMENT ON A NEW

In one hand, Robbie Williams, who sixteen years ago sang with Take That, had left this group because he wanted to try to sing alone, so it was good, because he became more popular and one of the best singers for many people. But it’s true that Take That missed him for some years.

In my opinion Robbie has got a special voice which is able to sing lonely, but he provides something important at the group, the friendly of five boys who in the past were completely friends.

In the other hand for many people, the band could dispense with Robbie. But I don’t agree with that. So I don’t deny that the band was good without Robbie.

In the other hand, the new tells about the rejoin of the five boys and their next show across Europe. Their new album, called Progress will be released next month.

In a recent interview Robbie said: "There's going to be a bit for everybody," I'm going to be doing a bit, the lads are going to be doing a bit then we're all going to be doing a bit.

In reference with that, I think that the singer is so happy to has rejoined the group, formed by Gary Barlow, Mark Owen, Jason Orange, Howard Donald and fortunately, now also by Robbie Williams.

SHAME – ROBBIE & GARY

A few months ago I listened a song by Robbie Williams and Gary Barlow, who have ever been friends, which talks about their rejoin, or at least, this is what I have understood. So the song explains that there are two boys who were friends and who now, are surrounded for have being separated so many years.

Here, I’ve updated the lyrics; you can listen to it and watch the lovely video.

I have chosen this new because the music is a topic which interests me a lot, and more if I find news related to my favourite singers.
